POLO & SAIFUL'S SALAD...

you all know about polo,

BUT
saiful's salad is new.

i am naming this salad
( that i thought up)

SAIFUL'S SALAD

because, saiful is a young boy who lives in the home here,
and when i first made this salad,
and took downstairs to share,
it was saiful
who came knocking on my door to ask if he could have some more.
he said with a twinkle in his eyes, and his head to one side
" debbie aunty, this is very, very tasty, i would like some more"

INGREDIENTS...
a few tomatoes
a few red onions
bunch of coriander (chopped)
1/3 cup roughly crushed peanuts
1/3 cup dessicated coconut. ( the long strand)
1/2 tea turmeric
1/2 tea sugar
1/4 tea salt
little olive oil
aloo bhujia
(i think this would be available in coles , or indian shop.
it is potato {aloo} crisp little strands)

this is a new cutter.
i use this blade, so you can see that the tomato & onion is cut small.

see how small.
also a photo of small knife.
one edge of the blade is plain and & other is serrated.
isn't that just so clever.
such a sharp little knife.

nearly all ingredients in the bowl.

close up of
ALOO BHUJIA.

add drizzle of olive oil and let sit for about 1 hour.
when ready to serve, i fold in the ALOO BHUJIA.

i think this would be a great salad to take on a picnic.
as easily transported and assembled at the last minute.
it is SO REFRESHING.
to enjoy in the summer months.

thought you'd like to see what i am having for dessert.

papaya.
so sweet & grown in india.

pomegranate.
little rubies & also grown in india.

i encourage you to try this salad.

it could possibly be one of
SUMMERS FAVOURITES.

maybe should explain why i named this post
POLO & SAIFUL'S SALAD.

simple.
i went to POLO
yesterday, the same day i made the salad.

  1. What a wickedly excellent sounding salad - going to the supermarket tomorrow. Reckon you could do an import/export business with that nifty green cutter! Cx
