i had 4 nights in
DELHI.
after shopping, what to do??
i read in
THE TIMES OF INDIA
newspaper, about this
ART FAIR.
sounded interesting.
i loved the use of the steel rods
for these planters and
dividers.
loved the use of the
wooden pallets.
see the lettuce growing in the wooden containers.
going inside now.
this interesting display is
EGGS.
this is a familiar site in
RURAL INDIA.
not this metal variety !
lovely ceramic heads.
simply, short stones,
sitting on
long stones.
another pottery head.
an interior shot.
i thought the
pink walls
were an interesting choice for
art display.
steel rods.
wool knitted
and then
joined together to form this art piece.
i liked this wall colour.
ALSO
the way the statues have been displayed in amongst the
art work.
BUDDHA'S HEADS.
these
STAND ALONE
pieces were cut from ONE piece of steel.
and then by removing the POSITIVE SHAPE
and sitting it at right angles,
it will stand by itself.
another piece.
this is a photo of a postcard.
displaying the 4 large pieces of art.
there is thousands of
RICE FLOWERS
combing them with layers of acrylic and oil paint.
creating large scale 3D fields of petals on canvas.
fabulous technique.
ROLLED PAPER.
PEN & INK
close up.
these were a series of 2.
read carefully the words.
they amused me.
part of a large wall piece.
made from horns
& metal rings.
yarn twisted around wire.
this was a large piece of
TEXTILE WORK.
silks & cottons,
heavily hand stitched.
then paint lightly rubbed over the surface.
i liked this idea.
i could see it used as a
SCREEN
or
light difuser on windows.
this was the long piece of art.
close up .
part of another piece.
these elephants had been painted by
famous people,
& were going to be auctioned to raise money for
SAVE THE ELEPHANTS.
great imagination.!
raid the children's or
grandchildren's toy car collection.
this copy of a catherdrel in
ENGLAND.
was made from cut steel.
close up.
beautiful busts.
i don't know what they were made from,
but
i loved what the artist used to
cover the faces with.
pages of a
BOOK.
a series of wood boxs
with
TREASURES inside.
close up.
modern chair.
another chair.
BMW
was a major sponsor of the ART FAIR.
this BMW
was painted for promotional reasons.
side view.
now,
these 2 men
are what i call
LIVING
WALKING
ART.
ART,
like
beauty....
is in the eye of the beholder.
