OLD TEXTILES....

i had the best dream last night.

i was in this cave,

it reminded me of
 ALADDIN'S CAVE.

instead of jewels, i was surrounded by OLD TEXTILES,
MIRROR WORK TEXTILES,

i was laying in this room,
textiles everywhere
and i was sleeping on many, many years of work
and many years old pieces.

this is the entrance to
ALADDIN'S CAVE.

medium size bags.
decorated with fake coins.
they did have a terrible fabric shoulder strap, which i would remove and make into a clutch bag.

SUZANI work.
i love this style of hand embroidery.

this is a LARGE mat, used for inside of tents.
base fabric is a strong canvas, and most of the stitching is a long stitch.

WELL !!!
it wasn't a dream.

it was REAL...

i went yesterday, and was SOOO OVERWHELMED.

there was a series of rooms, filled to the ceiling,.

one of the big rooms, i could have dived on top of the work.

i will return again.

DREAMS DO COME TRUE.
