ANOTHER GRAND WEDDING...

i was invited to
 another wedding this week.

4,000 people.
fantastic venue.
fantastic food.
fantastic decorations .
fantastic music.
fantastic fire works.
etc
etc
etc...

this was part of the

ENTRANCE

many, many,
paper mache doves.

start of the walk way.
the man on the right,
blew a trumpet (like ) instrument, every
15sec.
to herald the arrival of guests.

pink & white was the colour theme.
we walked on white fake fur.
along the sides, were table decorations with REAL flowers.
 & paper mache animals.

a paper mache tree.

REAL FLOWERS
covering an arch on the side of the walkway.

a little intimate area, off the main walk way.

the FRUIT BAR.
local & imported fruits.
beautifully cut and presented on
individual plates.
you just took a large plate, and made your choice.

this is the canopied area for sitting down to eat dinner.
most people stand, and replenish their plates many times.
the large handing lights, are paper mache.
they were so effective.

LASSIE.
(yoghurt based drink)
in big open pot.

dining area.

some dancers, near the lassie.
person in blue is depicting
LORD KRISHNA.

beautiful saris.

this woman's outfit was stunning.
it would have been heavy to wear.

what a night!

arrived 9.00pm.
started to enjoy dinner about 10.00pm.
there was a LIVE band,
that had been flown in from MUMBAI.
their style , i'd say was MODERN OPERA. .
fiddles, violins.
the sky was alight with fireworks.
the food was
INDIAN
INTERNATIONAL.
with separate areas for the food.
the food was labelled & each station had a few chefs that cooked the food on the spot.

after all that,,,
i never even spotted the

BRIDE & GROOM.

  1. Debbie, that looks like an amazingly up market wedding. You could play a game...match the wedding to the advertisement in the paper x mnths ago! :) And of course, there are all the activities spread over the three preceding weeks! Reckon the couple will come to yet another event in the next few days! What a privilege it always is to be invited (as an outsider) to these events! Thanks for sharing. Cx
